THE P158.5 million Davao River Bridge widening project connecting Ma-a and Buhangin along the Carlos P. Garcia Highway or popularly known as Diversion Road is eyed to be completed by April next year.
The regional office of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), in its advisory Monday, December 5, said the riding public was advised not to cross the bridge as it was closed from midnight up to 4 a.m. Tuesday until Wednesday to give way for the construction work on the bridge.
In a public advisory, the DPWH said motorists should take alternate routes.
The project’s contractor is VT Lao Construction.
DPWH said, “Construction works on the bridge will include the removal of existing structures and widening.”
Placing girders or bridge supports will also be done.
DPWH added that initial works of the project were already done last April 15, 2015.
