‘A Little Help’ from Green CDO Eagles

“SINCE we cannot build houses for you, kani lang gayud among madalit agi’g tabang kaninyo nga mga nasunugan (this is the only thing we could do to help all of you who are fire victims).”

Outgoing Northern Mindanao Governor Dondon Allorin Thursday night, December 15, led the Green CDO Eagles club’s community service for the fire victims in Lapasan village that temporarily take shelter at the covered court of said village.

In the company of incoming Northern Mindanao Governor Anjun Gomez, club leaders Wilbourne Neri, Arnel Baba and fellow “ate” and “kuya,” they went on distributing in-kind donations such as used clothings, rice, noodles, can goods, among others, for the so-called “Oplan Tabang sa Nasunogan” to the residents of Kolambog, Lapasan.

“Lipay kaayo ang mga biktima nabibo sab ang mga bata sa ginagmay nga cash, tsinelas ug uban pa nga gi-extend sa mga kuya (They were happy and the children were lively when the ‘kuyas’ extend their help through giving cash, slippers and others),” said Ate Divina Gelogo, whose family resides in sitio Agora, Lapasan village.

Saturday, December 17, at 1 p.m., the Green CDO Eagles will also initiate the giving out of at least 50 sacks of rice and grocery items to the impoverished families in nearby Barra, Opol, Misamis Oriental.

In cooperation with SunStar Cagayan de Oro staff, the group will also augment the paper’s second feeding program for the Boystown’s children in upper Lumbia.

“Salamat sa mga ate ug kuya nga walay hunong ang suporta ma-basketball man o tabang sa mga naigo sa kalamidad (Thank you to the ‘ate’ and ‘kuya’ for their never-ending support, be it in basketball or for those who are victims of calamity),” said “Con-Air” Gomez, who also acknowledged Kuya “Dingdong Wave” Aligato, for sponsoring the rice-giving activity.
