VANILLA Air Inc., a Japanese LCC (low cost carrier) wholly owned by ANA Holdings Inc., celebrates Christmas Day with the launch of daily direct flights from Narita to Cebu, making this the fifth international destination in the airline’s route network.
The operation from Cebu to Tokyo started Dec. 26. Cebu is a popular tourist and business destination known for its unique blend of tropical paradise and business haven. It is a booming metropolis in the southern part of the Philippines.
Vanilla Air currently operates from Tokyo (Narita) to Taipei, Kaohsiung, Hong Kong and Ho Chi Minh City aside from the domestic destinations: Sapporo, Hakodate, Osaka, Amami-Oshima and Okinawa.
For a small additional fee on airfare, Vanilla Air allows travelers to explore other Japanese destinations via Narita. Top of the list is Hokkaido, an island in the north which is known for hot springs, national parks and most especially the ski resorts. It is accessible from Narita and onward to Sapporo where flight time is only one hour and 45 minutes from Vanilla Air’s hub in NRT.
Operating an Airbus A320 aircraft, the low-cost carrier which has a single class configuration was welcomed in Cebu last Dec. 25. (PR)
