THE Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) will hold simulation exercises this week to prepare policemen assigned to secure about 160 delegates arriving for the 2017 Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) Summit meetings next month.
Senior Superintendent Jack Wanky, officer-in-charge of BCPO, said they will give policemen scenarios of possibilities that may arise before and during the international event as they are expecting protests from various groups.
Asean security forces will undergo exercises on crowd control and other reactive measures based on the procedures and guidelines of the police.
The BCPO remains on full alert status while the Asean meeting is approaching, Wanky said.
More than 1,000 policemen will be deployed, with augmentation from Negros Occidental Provincial Police Office and Negros Oriental Provincial Police Office.
