KIMERALD is officially back again.
Cebuana actress Kim Chiu and leading man Gerald Anderson, famously known together as Kimerald, trended on social media Saturday evening for their "Maalaala Mo Kaya" episode entitled "Sulat."
The story revolves around two lovers who were separated by fate, only to be reunited again at the wrong time.
Anderson breathe life to the character of Bernard who immediately fell in love with Cze, played by Chiu.
He would secretly send her letters and drawings until she finally discovered the identity of her admirer.
The two eventually became a couple until Bernard's father petitioned him to live with him the US. They tried to make the most of the situation but distance played in the demise of the relationship.
Meanwhile, Cze met Rico, played by Edgar Allan De Guzman, and got pregnant with his child. Che and Rico decided to get married but Bernard returned in the picture.
The two lead characters eventually reunited and ended up together.
Directed by Dado Lumibao, the said MMK episode served as a prelude to the big things happening for Chiu and Anderson in the coming months.
The two are set to top bill "Ikaw Lang ang Iibigin," their reunion project after more than five years.
Loyal supporters of the love team were thrilled to have seen their idols on-screen again after all the hullabaloo in their personal lives. To recall, Chiu and Anderson became a couple after their successful stint in "Pinoy Big Brother" and did numerous movies together.
The two broke up in 2010. Anderson went to date Bea Alonzo and eventually had a relationship with Maja Salvador, best friend of Chiu.
The Cebuana actress then did a couple of movies with leading man and close friend Xian Lim.
Their loyal Kimerald fans were just too happy to finally see their idols again on the small screen.
Prior to their MMK episode, the two last worked together in Star Cinema movie “24/7 in Love” in 2012.
Chiu and Anderson's reunion project "Ikaw Lang Ang Iibigin" will be under Dreamscape Productions of ABS-CBN and will also star Jake Cuenca, Coleen Garcia, Ayen Munji-Laurel, Bing Loyzaga and Helen Gamboa. (SunStar Philippines)
