How to maximize Instagram’s newest feature for your travels

JUST recently, Instagram introduced its newest feature: carousel posts. With it, you can be able to upload up to 10 photos and videos in a single swipeable post.

If you’re a traveler who loves to take shots of your adventures and upload them on Instagram, here are some reasons why this latest feature could be your new best friend especially this summer—the season of fun road trips and exciting getaways.

1. You can now post more travel photos in one go

When you travel, you will see lots of breathtaking scenes that you can't help but take photos of and share on Instagram. But since bombarding your followers with photos daily can feel a bit off, you limit yourself to uploading one to two photos per day. But with Instagram's new feature, your photos won't rot anymore on your phone's gallery or hard drive. You can upload up to 10 photos and videos onto a single carousel post, which your friends can swipe to view one by one.

2. You have more time to enjoy your travels more

Nowadays, part of traveling means having to upload every single moment to Instagram, and thanks to Instagram Stories, posting your travel photos and videos (and even boomerangs) just got easier. But if you spend your time trying to get your followers in the loop instead of being in the moment, then you are missing out on all the fun.

With Instagram's newest feature, you can just round up all the photos you have taken during your travel and upload them onto your carousel post at the end of the day. That way, you will be able to enjoy every second of your trip and have a memorable photo on your feed to cap it off.

3. Customizing your carousel post is easy and fun

Creating a carousel post is just like creating a Facebook photo album: it’s easy and is very fun to customize. If you want to show your journey to the beach chronologically through your photos and videos, you can arrange them in order of when they took place.

You can also choose to go with a color scheme for aesthetics. If you choose blue as your theme, just choose photos or videos from your gallery which include the color blue. For example, a photo of the cloudy blue sky or a video of azure-colored waves lapping against the shore.

Instagram's trusty filters can even be used for the carousel post. You can choose one filter, which is applicable to all the photos and videos on the post. What's more, you can tag your friends in any of the photos they're in.

Aside from your travel posts, Instagram suggests that you could use the new feature to share your favorite moments of your best friend’s surprise birthday party, from setting up to when they walk through the door or create a step-by-step cake recipe that your followers can always check on your profile.
