NHA: 52% of displaced families get permanent shelters

THE National Housing Authority (NHA) announced that 52 percent of the siege-displaced families have already received permanent shelters as of April 10, this year.

This as NHA district manager Al-Khwarizmi Indanan said that 3,300 of the 5,300 completed permanent shelters have already been awarded to the beneficiaries.

The awarded housing units represents 52 percent of the more than 6,300 total number of houses to be constructed for the displaced families.

Indanan said the remaining 2,000 completed housing units that are still to be awarded are subject to verification of beneficiaries by the City Housing and Land Management Division and installation of temporary sanitation facilities.

The permanent shelters were constructed through the Zamboanga City Roadmap to Recovery and Reconstruction (Z3R), the government blueprint for the rehabilitation of the siege-affected areas.

Meanwhile, Indanan announced that another turnover is expected on April 18 covering some 800 Z3R houses at Valle Vista Phase II and sitio Hongkong in Rio Hondo. (Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
