Y-Speak: Smoking is injurious to health

SMOKING is one of the major problems today. Men easily get lured to it and get addicted.

Smoking causes a disease such as cancer and tuberculosis. Smokers do not seem properly hunger. The taste of mouth gets worse. Smoking is a slow poison. It spread in a body slowly. Most have bad effects on the lungs.

For women, smoking is more deadly. Some people understand that smoking calms the mind and the brain. They think it can do its work by the abuse of their concentrated mind.

In fact, this assumption is wrong. Smoking makes minds dull. It is also written on the box that smoking is dangerous to health, yet people are still enjoying this poison that eventually they will realized how severe the effects of smoking in a person’s body.

The young generation nowadays is becoming addicted to smoking. This is indication why the numbers of smokers are increasing in our country today. There was no preferred age of smoking now. Losses are shown daily on TV today, yet people do not learn from it.

Due to continued escalation of smokers in the country, it behooves the President of the Philippines to sign the executive order that prohibits smoking in public places nationwide, March 7, 2016.

The executive order will mandate all the agencies of government, including the local government to implement this 100 percent smoking ban in all public places. There will be no smoking in the public places anymore, whether indoor or outdoor. Parks, bus stations, and even in vehicles. All these are considered public places.

It is an information drive to work together to be able to prevent children, the poor and the public from smoking in the public places.
