Solon supports Brigada Eskwela

ANGELES CITY -- Pampanga First District Representative Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II joined other government officials and private and multi-sectoral groups in supporting this year’s nationwide Brigada Eskwela which started from May 15 to 20.

Lazatin, after fulfilling his duties in Congress attending sessions and committee hearings, visited several schools in Angeles City, Mabalacat City and the municipality of Magalang to signify his support to the program.

The solon underscored the annual activity’s objectives with the theme “Isang DepEd, Isang Pamayanan, Isang Bayanihan para sa Handa at Ligtas na Paaralan.”

Using personal resources, Lazatin extended assistance in line with the preparation of schools including cleaning, painting, electrical and plumbing works of classrooms, offices and other facilities.

He also provided disaster preparation materials needed for this academic year.

Lazatin instructed his staff to consult with Department of Education (DepEd) officials in identifying priority projects for possible inclusion in the plans of different national government agencies.

Schools officials have expressed appreciation to Lazatin for his assistance for the success of the synchronized actions benefitting Filipino students.

He linked up with DepEd in calling for volunteers to bring together all education stakeholders to participate and contribute their time, effort and resources to prepare public schools for the opening of school year in June 5.

“With or without Brigada Eskwela, we have to institutionalized our collective effort to improve and strengthened our learning institutions because this will surely spell development in our nation,” Lazatin stressed.

The Brigada Eskwela is the National Schools’ Maintenance Week that aims to ready the country’s public educational system for the incoming academic year next month.
