Gunman shoots businessman in Zamboanga Sibugay

A BUSINESSMAN has survived, although wounded, in a gun attack in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay, the police reported Wednesday, May 31.

Chief Inspector Helen Galvez, newly-installed Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula (Western Mindanao) information officer, disclosed the incident occurred around 8:30 p.m., Tuesday, at Sitio Siren in the village of Poblacion, Olutanga, Zamboanga Sibugay.

Galvez identified the victim as Faisal Roales, a businessman, and a resident of Sitio Siren, Poblacion village, Olutanga.

Investigation showed the victim was on his way home after buying an alcoholic drink when shot by an unidentified gunman in a dark alley beside the residence of his neighbor.

The victim was admitted at the Bateria Municipal Hospital, Olutanga, Zamboanga Sibugay.

Galvez said investigation continues to unmask the identity of the suspect behind the incident, which was believed to have stemmed from a personal grudge. (Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
