THE up-and-coming figure skaters from four Southeast Asian counties showed their wares in the 2017 Sea Challenge, which blasted off at the SM Skating Seaside City Cebu yesterday.
There were 19 figure skaters from the Philippines, five from Malaysia, four from Thailand and two from Indonesia who competed in the two-day sporting event spearheaded by Asian Skating Union (ASU).
The categories in the event are Juvenile, Pre-Novice, Basic Novice A, Basic Novice B, Advance Novice, Basic Junior, Junior, Elite Junior, Basic Senior and Elite Junior. The country is bannered by national team member Jules Alpe, who competes in the men’s Elite Junior.
The other national team members are Bianca Vinarao in the Basic Senior, Misha Fabian Elite Junior, Steph Angeles in the Basic Junior, Gabby Panilio in Advanced Novice.
The other Pinoys in the competition are Aj Ariones, Skye Chua and Sky Patenia in the Basic Novice B; Kate Orrock, Sofia Cu, Nicole Dritsas and Shaniah Yu in the Basic Novice A; Sophia Hernandez and Cailyn Bangug in the Pre-Novice; Ariel Pascual, Celine Tansipek, Czerine Ramos and Hayden Balucating in the Juvenile.
