TWO alleged members of a drug syndicate were arrested in an anti-drug operation in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay, the police reported Saturday.
Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer Helen Galvez identified the arrested suspects as Jameson Soque, 30, and Daryl Soque, 26, both of Veterans Village, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay.
Galvez said the suspects were arrested by the police and agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in a drug bust around 2:40 p.m. Friday in Veterans Village, Ipil town.
The suspects are members of the Joel Mariano Drug Group, who is involved in the distribution of illegal drugs in the towns of Ipil and Naga.
The authorities confiscated a loaded handgun, nine small packs of suspected crystal meth and drug paraphernalia from the suspects.
