6 persons massacred in Nueva Ecija

CAMP OLIVAS -- At least six persons were hacked to death while sleeping inside their residence in San Leonardo town, Nueva Ecija province Friday.

The victims, three men and three women, sustained fatal injuries when the suspect, carrying a bolo, attacked them inside the house they were renting in Barangay Tambo Adorable of said town at dawn Friday, April 20.

Initial report conducted by the Nueva Ecija police revealed that the suspect, Jessie Tesoro, was the common-law husband of Jennifer, one of the fatalities.

Other fatalities were Jennifer's mother, two men, a 10-year-old girl and an 11-year-old boy.

Police said the family members were speaking Kapampangan dialect and were only renting the house in said village for about two weeks.

Police said that family victims were former residents of Capas town in Tarlac province.

A tricycle driver said he was hired by the suspect who alighted the vehicle in Santa Rosa town junction at 4:30 a.m.

The suspect, who was wearing white t-shirt, was cool without any sign of restlessness, according to the witness.

Annalyn, one of the survivors, reportedly managed to run to a neighbor’s house who brought her to a local hospital.

Investigators are still looking for the suspect's weapon as of Friday.

Chief Superintendent Amador Corpus, Police Regional Office-Central Luzon director, said two kids, who were not hurt during the attack, are now under the custody of Department of Social Welfare and Development.

Immediately after learning the incident, Corpus said he has ordered Nueva Ecija police to create a tracking team to establish the suspect's whereabouts. (Ric Sapnu)
