THE usual colorful invitation was delivered. Park Inn was going to have one of its fun long table gathering where we all get to sit around and feast on the hotel’s exciting food offerings. These gatherings are never to be missed.
What is summer fiesta all about? From the hotel’s kitchen came out the season’s specialties—fresh green salad with three dressings to choose from, grilled salmon, chicken in thick gravy saucy, grilled pork chops, and the perfect meal enders of assorted cakes, fresh fruits and a giant pavlova!
I believe I was the eager (and hungry) guest in the group and dug in the moment the last camera took a shot of the “obligatory food shoot before meals” (taking the place of the “grace before meals”), and yes, I found the dishes delightful.
Was I excited for the desserts? That would be asking if I breathe air to live. Let’s just say I was the first one (again) to get a bite of the sugary fare.
Then the rest of the good news was served.
“This gathering is not just about sharing the sumptuous food we have for summer. It’s also about sharing a couple of good news and saying farewell to one of ours colleagues,” said Emelyn Mauhay, the lady leader behind the hotel’s success.
She announced that Patty Basa-Tan is leaving her post as PR Coordinator to become a full-time mom to her growing brood. Her boss said,” Patty will still be joining us in our media gatherings and the hotel will be waiting for her to come back. She’s just going on a ‘sabbatical’.”
Taking Patty’s place as PR Coordinator is Izza Cardeinte, who has been with hotel’s PR team for quite some time now.
After Patty extended her thank you and farewell piece, it was her turn to deliver another good news—Emelyn Rosales has been formally signed in by Park Inn by Radisson Davao as its General Manager.
Emelyn joined Park Inn by Radisson Davao in May 2015 as the Director of Sales and Marketing. In 2016 she assumed the role of Hotel - OIC and eventually became the Hotel Manager. Because of her dedication and passion she recently got promoted as the General Manager last January 1, 2018.
Perhaps not many know of Em’s credentials. She graduated with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Tourism at the University of the Philippines Diliman as a Cum Laude and earned her Master’s Degree in Business Administration at Ateneo de Manila University. With a solid educational foundation she gained great exposures in the hotel industry and was able to work in well-known companies in the Philippines and even in other countries.
Duty calls for these three empowered ladies of Park Inn—a new General Manager, a new PR Coordinator and a full time mom. Congratulations and good luck on your new roles, Em, Izza and Patty!
