MEMBERS of the Civilian Active Auxiliary (CAA) of the Philippine Army were allegedly harassed and ambushed by three unidentified men at Hacienda Sta. Isabel Riverside and Sitio Kinaruyan in Barangay San Isidro, E.B. Magalona, Negros Occidental, on April 21.

Police records showed that CAA members led by Sergeant Julius Sarito, detachment commander of the 12th Infantry Division, were conducting a foot patrol in the area when they heard gunfire around 12:15 p.m.

Then E.B. Magalona Municipal Police Station responded to a call for assistance from Regional Mobile Force Company based in Victorias City.

It was reported that the assailants fired their Armalite rifle. Nobody was harmed.

The perpetrators then fled toward Victorias City.

The clearing operation led to the recovery of 16 fired bullets of the M16 rifle.

A bystander also turned over another fired bullet of the same firearm. (GYM)
