A RELATIVE of Silay City's top drug suspect Michael Divinagracia in Negros Occidental yielded an estimated P225,000 worth of illegal drugs in a drug bust on corner Gonzaga-Lopez Jaena Streets in Barangay 28, Bacolod City, on April 20.

Inspector Adrian James Albaytar, assistant team leader of City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU), identified the suspect as Bryan Blasi, 23, of Purok Star Apple II, Barangay 27. He is a newly-identified drug personality and a street-level target.

Blasi sold a shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) to a police agent for P1,000. However, when the police agent introduced himself, Blasi resisted arrest and allegedly hit the latter.

A brief chase followed, leading to the apprehension of Blasi, who sustained minor injuries during his escape attempt.

Police recovered from him four sachets of suspected shabu weighing 15 grams, and the P1,000 marked money.

Albaytar said Blasi admitted that he engaged in the illegal drug trade after he took over the transactions of his partner, Carla Umadhay, 24, of Barangay 27, who was also previously arrested for the same offense.

In January, Umadhay yielded five big and 11 smaller sachets of shabu amounting to P400,000 after operatives raided her apartment on Camia-Malaspina Streets in Barangay Villamonte.

Albaytar said Blasi gets his supply of illegal drugs from Divinagracia and some sources of Umadhay.

He distributes the contrabands to the different drug personalities in Bacolod City, Albaytar added.

Blasi, who is detained at Police Station 6, will be charged with violations of Section 5 (sale of dangerous drugs) and 11 (possession of dangerous drugs) of Republic Act 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and direct assault.

Meanwhile, a male teenager was arrested in a drug bust in Barangay

Patun-an, Calatrava town, on April 21.

Collared was Jhoemer Tacyan, 19, of the said village.

Police confiscated from Tacyan two sachets of suspected shabu, drug paraphernalia, cellular phone, wallet, and P150 in cash.

He is detained at Calatrava Municipal Police Station. (GYM)
