A SOLDIER died while 27 others were wounded when their truck flipped over and crashed at the center of the highway in Zamboanga Sibugay.

The fatality was identified as Glen Lumacad, 27, of the Army’s 35th Infantry Battalion (IB). He expired en route to the hospital.

Chief Superintendent Edwin De Ocampo, deputy regional director for administration, said the accident happened around 12:20 a.m. Saturday, April 21, in Purok 5 in Barangay (village) Mirangan, Siay town.

Those injured included troops of the same battalion, 9th Forward Support Service Unit of the Army Support Command and five military dependents. They were taken to a medical center in Zamboanga City.
