BOOKS can give us a wide variety of imaginations and let us feel different emotions as we understand the words written on each pages.

Tabunan: The Untold Exploits of the Famed Cebu Guerillas in World War II, is a book written by Colonel Manuel Segura and was published in 1975.

Due to a long period of time and the geographical location of the book’s distribution, copies from 1975 gradually lost.

A new edition of the book was launched last Friday, April 20, and it was successfully annotated and edited by Dr. Erlinda Alburo and reviewed by Dr. Resil Mojares.

The book tells the story of Cebuano guerillas during the Japanese era.

"Our next generation... will remember the exploits of our fathers and how they contribute to our freedom," says Teodoro Segura, son of Colonel Manuel.

During the launching of the book, few individuals attended including Fr. Ernesto Javier, Board of Trustees Member of Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc., Jon Ramon Aboitiz, Chairman, Board of Trustees Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc., and Cebu Vice Governor Agnes Magpale.

"Knowledge is important because it allows us to understand our past and learn for our future," said Javier. (Katherine Gozalo, Father Saturnino Urios University Intern/SunStar Philippines)
