Nokia unveils new smartphone lineup

HMD Global, the brand partner of Nokia, announced the availability of the company’s new lineup of Android phones next month in Cebu City in the company’s launch event on Monday at Harold’s Hotel.

Promising durability and reliability, HMD Global launched Nokia 7 plus, the company’s flagship smartphone to be established as the new major mobile player of the iconic brand.

The Nokia 7 comes with a 16-megapixel front-facing camera with ZEISS optics that adapts to low-light conditions. To capture moments simultaneously, the phone allows the user to use both front and back cameras to take the ultimate “Bothie.”

Available for P21,990, the Nokia 7 plus will hit retail shops on April 27. Pre-sale of the units are available through Abenson.com, Argomall, MemoXpress and Lazada.

Alongside with Nokia 7 Plus, the company is also releasing three more Android phones, Nokia 1, Nokia 8110 4G and the New Nokia 6, which were first introduced at the Mobile Congress last February.

The models come in different price points to suit different budgets and bring back the fun colors Nokia is known for.

To be closer to the Filipino market, HMD Global made sure to make prices competitive for Nokia 1, a smartphone that retails for P4,290.

The Nokia 6 is priced at P15,990, while the Nokia 8810 4G “banana phone” will be launched in Davao. It will ht stores in May.

Alongside the launch of the new Nokia lineup was the official opening of the Nokia Mobile NewSeum, an interactive exhibit showcasing old and new Nokia phones. The Nokia Mobile NewSeum runs from April 23 to 30 at SM City Cebu.

“HMD Global is proud to continue the story of Nokia mobile through the qualities that we first loved such as durability and innovation, designed to suit very need and style. As a key market, we are committed to building and strengthening our presence in Cebu” said Shannon Mead, HMD Global Philippines manager. (CNU Interns Elitz Alia Caballero & Ginalyn Astudillo)
