80 cops from Region 7 to undergo SAF training

MORE than 80 police recruits from the Police Regional Office (PRO) 7 will be sent to the Special Action Force (SAF) headquarters in Camp Bagong Diwa Bicutan, Taguig City.

PRO 7 Director Chief Supt. Robert Quenery said that newly installed Police Director General Oscar Albayalde wanted police recruits to undergo SAF training instead of the six-month field training program to instill discipline among them.

“He ordered the training department to come up with a program of instruction that will let our police recruits undergo a SAF training. He wants the six months training period to be handled by SAF because if the recruits are still in their OJT (on-the-job training), they will be exposed to the corruption on the ground,” Quenery said.

Quenery said he welcomes the move of Albayalde to standardize the SAF’s six-month Basic Internal Security Operations Course instead of the six months OJT program.

Quenery also backs the continuation of the internal cleansing in the organization.

“Sabi niya na kailangan hindi na pukpokin pa sila para gawin ang trabaho kundi magkusa na na pagsilbihan ang ating mga constituents,” he said. (JOB)
