A TOP official of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) has urged the public to support the programs of the agency.
Gloria Ibañez, PCSO department manager for Mindanao, made the call as she led on Friday, August 18, the launching of the Small Town Lottery (STL) in Zamboanga City.
Ibañez said the support of the public to the STL operations is needed in order for the PCSO to generate more funds for the government.
She said the City Government will receive a monthly three percent revenue share from the gross sales of the local approved Authorized Agent Corporation (AAC).
The local AAC of the PCSO is the DJL1 Gaming Corporation. The corporation established an office in the village of Sta. Maria, Zamboanga City.
The DJL1 will officially start operations on Monday, August 21. The STL draw is three times a day -- 11 a.m., 4 p.m. and 9 p.m.
Ibañez said the operations of the STL is also to help the government eliminate illegal gambling and to provide decent job to the people.
Raul Regondola, PCSO-Zamboanga branch manager, said that the DJL1 Gaming Corporation headed by its president, Diong Lim, Jr., will be the sole AAC in the city.
Regondola said the DJL1 Gaming Corporation have employed coordinators and sale agents in the different villages of this city.
He said the establishment of the STL is to help the PCSO source out more funds for charity program of the agency.
The PCSO manager said the opening of the STL in the city is the third here in the region.
The first was in Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur, which opened on June 23 and second was in Isabela City, Basilan that was launched on Thursday, August 17. (SunStar Philippines)
