Market Watch: Prices of some fruits, vegies up

THE prices of selected vegetables and fruit at Bankerohan Public Market have increased based on the price monitoring conducted by SunStar Davao Tuesday, April 24.

The price of tomato increased to P110 per kilogram (kg) this week from P40/kg last week; raddish at P80/kg from P60/kg; eggplant at P70/kg from P50/kg; squash at P30/kg from P15/kg; sitaw at P90/kg from P60/kg; okra at P60/kg from P40/kg; and onion at P100/kg from P80/kg last week.

A P20 increase was noted for durian, it is now at P200/kg from P180/kg; pomela is at P90/kg from P70/kg; mango at P120/kg from P100/kg; and avocado at P100/kg from P100/kg.

Meanwhile, some prices of vegetables and fruits have dropped. Carrots are now at P70/kg from P100/kg last week; ampalaya at P70/kg from P100/kg; and mangosteen at P500/kg from P700/kg.

Prices of other commonly bought fruits and vegetables remained stable. Lakatan at P40/kg; latundan at P35/kg; lettuce at P70/kg; cabbage at P60/kg; ginger at P100/kg; garlic at P100/k; and malunggay at P5 per bundle. (Kent Warren H. Fugoso and Brisbane Q. Titular, FSUU- Interns)
