ONE of the suspected top drug personalities in Compostela Valley province was captured in a buy-bust operation on Saturday, April 21, 2018, in Purok 4, Barangay (village) San Juan, Maco.
Charon Bueno Antonio, 42, married and a resident of Barangay San Juan, Compostela Valley, was listed as No. 7 on the province’s drug watchlist.
In a report, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA 11) in Davao Region said the anti-illegal drug operation was launched at around 12:30 a.m., after they received a text message on the location of the suspect.
Police said the suspect was one of the “elusive and notorious” drug personalities operating in Compostela Valley.
A certain Elmer Bagohin Martinez, 29, single, was also arrested. Martinez was with Antonio when the buy bust operation was conducted.
Two small sachets of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, or shabu, and bills were seized during the said buy-bust.
Also recovered were sachets of suspected marijuana with a combined weight of 500 grams and an estimated worth of P2,000.
Both suspects are now imprisoned at the Maco Municipal Police Station.
A case for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002 is being prepared against the two. (Siham Jalipa Darkouch and Bomie Combong Jr., NDDU Interns)
