International exposure helps Western Visayas booters win Palaro title

INTERNATIONAL exposure and the proper grassroots program helped the Western Visayas elementary football team win the recent Palarong Pambansa title.

Western Visayas defeated Central Visayas, 2-0, to claim the crown.

"Playing in international tournaments gave us a huge advantage. More so that most of our team members were already in the Palaro last year. Further, local football programs like the Dynamic Football League has played a vital role in enhancing our players’ skills and potentials," Nofa secretary-general Roland Treyes said.

“The Nofa Cup and other national competitions also boosted our players’ capabilities on the field. Their victory was a product of proper team preparations, hard work, and the people behind the team,” Treyes said.

“Those people who unselfishly worked hard and pushed the programs that they believed can benefit young footballers. The good leadership of coaches, mindset of players, and supportive parents also helped in the team’s success,” Treyes added. (HGD)
