Police arrest massacre suspect

CAMP OLIVAS -- The suspect in the massacre of six persons and critically wounding of two others was arrested at his house in Barangay Cut-Cut 1, Tarlac City, on April 20.

Senior Superintendent Eliseo Tanding, Nueva Ecija police provincial director, said a police team arrested Jessie Tesoro at 8 p.m. of April 20.

The bodies of Jennifer Cariaga, 24; Sergio Caballero, 29; Amy Caballero, 12; Joshua Caballero, 10; and their mother Leonila; as well as Sonny Custodio were discovered in an apartment in the morning of April 20.

Tanding said Annalyn Caballero, 19, who suffered multiple wounds, survived the attack and sought help from their neighbors.

Tanding said that on the night prior to the incident, Jennifer had a heated argument with Tesoro, who was her live-in partner.

The suspect hacked the victims to death inside the apartment.

Jennifer's two kids, who also survived the attack, were turned over by their relatives by the policemen.

Tanding said the suspect was detained at San Leonardo Police Station.
