Magalang LGU to create youth brigade vs crimes

MAGALANG --- The municipal government is currently organizing a youth brigade that will assist in the local crime prevention program.

During the pre-pageant of the Mutya Ning Magalang 2018 at San Ildefonso on Monday, Mayor Malou Lacson said the local officials are now in the process of forming their youth task force in every barangay.

She said the task force will be used in crime prevention and anti-drug campaign of the local government and the Philippine National Police (PNP).

“We are in the process of organizing the youth task force in order to combat crime and illegal drugs [in the barangay level],” Lacson said

“Actually we started with the scholars under the summer job program of Vice-Governor Dennis Pineda, Governor Lilia Pineda, and the Department of Labor and Employment,” the lady mayor added.

Members of the youth task force will also serve as force multipliers of the local police and Bantay Bayans, according to the mayor.

“Isn’t it that they have tasks to do? Our suggestion is to have a youth organization within the barangay. {Force] multiplier sila pero they will see themselves relevant instruments in changing their respective barangays,” Lacson said.
