Davao dribblers lose; volleybelles advance

TAGBILARAN City, Bohol -- Davao Region's basketball teams suffered major setbacks but the junior volleybelles booked a ticket to the semifinals in the ongoing National Prisaa Games 2018 here Wednesday, April 25.

The men's cagers bowed to Central Visayas Region. The Cebuanos dictated the game as early as the first period.

The Roderick Conda-mentored Davao Region, however, will try to bounce back in their next game.

Davao junior boys basketball team, for its part, bowed to Calabarzon Region in court B of NHU.

From a 15-22 deficit in the first half, Davao climbed its way back in the third, engaging Calabarzon to a see-saw affair. But Davao dribblers succumbed to major setbacks and crucial turnovers.

Junior basketball coach Arturo Montalban and his wards will have to win their next game to stay alive in the tournament.

Meanwhile, the junior girls spikers reached the semifinals after beating Bicol Region at the Victoriano B. Tirol Sports Complex.

The semis game against a still undetermined opponent is set this afternoon.

At the same vemue, Davao's junior football team, led by Imardino Polo, sealed its second straight win after blanking Bicol Region, 3-0.

The Davao booters will face Western Visayas Thursday, April 26.
