‘Embracing new realities’ in next month’s transformation summit

HOW prepared are business process management (BPM) companies in Cebu to offer artificial intelligence or complex services? That will be among the topics during the 2018 Transformation Summit on May 16 in Bai Hotel in Mandaue City.

Participants will also explore the idea of “embracing new realities” as well as learn about the positive outcome of a Senior High School immersion program in the Apas National High School.

“We are now in a period when we have to attune our way of doing business to technological advancements, prepare our senior high school graduates to be more employable, and strengthen the innovation ecosytem, in order for us to sustain the growth of the IT-BPM sector,” said Wilfredo Saa Jr. of Cebu IT-BPM.Organization (CIB.O).

Saa said that the summit will also be a forum to discuss a need to shift toward higher-value services.

CIB.O is an industry association whose vision is making Cebu a preferred IT-BPM location for higher value IT and IT-enabled services. The association, which has 128 members, is a consortium of IT-BPM companies, academe, support groups, government agencies, and civic organizations. More than 300 IT companies are in Cebu, employing around 150,000 people who generate an annual income of more than P29.3 billion. (EOB)
