ANGELES CITY -- A woman was shot in the head in Tuesday afternoon, September 12, in front of a fast food chain and a jeepney terminal in Barangay Santo Domingo here.
Police identified the suspect as Rosana Oronce Agrano, 46, an agent of a lending firm and a native of Jala Jala Rizal.
Senior Superintendent Nixon Cayaban, Angeles City police director, said that Agrano is still under observation by physicians inside the intensive care unit of the Jose B. Lingad Memorial Regional Hospital in the City of San Fernando yesterday morning.
Agrano, while lying along the busy area, was seen in several photos posted on the Facebook by bystanders who at first thought that she was dead.
Cayaban said that they are looking into all possible angles to establish the real motive and the suspect behind the shooting.
Chief Inspector Erwin Marzan, Police Station 1 commander, stated in his report that a lone suspect riding a motorcycle shot the victim once and immediately fled the area.
CCTV footages obtained by police investigators showed that the suspect, who was wearing a helmet, was following Agrano before he shot her with a 9mm pistol.
Cayaban said he has directed Marzan to coordinate with Agrano’s husband who is a policeman assigned at the Floridablanca Police Station in Pampanga.
“Pinapunta ko si Major Marzan sa Floridablanca para sa follow up investigation kasi doon naka assign ang asawa,” Cayaban said.
Text messages from Agrano’s cellphone revealed that somebody was threatening to shoot her on the head, police said.
Senior Police Officer 4 Evelyn Marcelino Pineda, officer on case, said that Agrano, who was noted to be “responding,” was about to undergo surgery as of Wednesday, September 13.
According to Pineda, the victim was initially taken to the Sacred Heart Hospital which is only about 50 meters from the crime scene.
Agrano’s relatives, however, later transferred that victim to the JBL due to “financial reasons,” Pineda added.
