IN one of the episodes of “Wildflower,” former “Miss Saigon” actress Isay Alvarez showed an intense and impressive act in her confrontation scene with another effective actor, Tirso Cruz III.
Isay’s role called for her to be calm and poised but in that confrontation scene, she was fierce. Sadly, her character was killed shortly after that scene. Sigh!
Marian Rivera, together with her leading men: Fil-Am newbie actor Matthias Rhoads and stage actor-comedian Jerald Napoles, visited Cebu last weekend to promote their latest GMA 7 project “Super Ma’am.”
Marian is Minerva Henerala, a soft-hearted and dedicated high school teacher who got super powers by accident. Jerald is the talkative school janitor Esteban while Matthias is archaeologist Trevor Jones.
The supporting cast is composed of Helen Gamboa, Dina Bonnevie, Carmina Villaroel, Jackielou Blanco, Ai-ai delas Alas (special role), Al Tantay and many others.
Award-winning director Maryo J. delos Reyes was in town to support his ward, former Maskulados member Orlando Sol, who released a solo album called “Emosyon.” The album carries “Kailan Darating Ang Ayoko Na?,” “Ingatan Mo Ang Salitang Mahal Kita,” “Kaibigan,” “I’ll Always Be There” and “Lilipad Ako ‘Nay.”
Interestingly, with Direk Maryo at the helm, the song “Kailan Darating Ang Ayoko Na?” was transformed into a video series (the first ever in the country) of five episodes.
Joining Orlando in the video series are Blumark Roces and former “Pinoy Big Brother” housemate Catherine Rem. Orlando is from Butuan while Blumark and Catherine hail from Bohol.
