THE Zamboanga Press Club Incorporated (ZCPI), in partnership with the Task Force Zamboanga (TFZ) held a Gun Safety and Firearms Training-Seminar to familiarize members of the local media on the proper handling of guns.
The training-seminar was held on Saturday at the firing range of Camp General Arturo Enrile that houses the TFZ headquarters in the village of Malagutay.
Captain Ariel Lobusta, TFZ chief for civil-military operations (CMO), oriented the participants on the safety procedures and proper handling of firearms.
The one-day event was participated by 18 ZPCI members who are reporters of radio, television and local newspapers as well as cameramen, video editors and technicians.
The lecture was followed by dry-fire exercises of participants based on Lobusta’s lecture and demonstration.
In the afternoon, the participants were group into two for the actual shooting of firearms such as caliber .45 and .9-mm pistols as well as R4 rifle.
