CENTRAL Communications and Emergency Response Center (Central 911) is eyeing to expand in Marahan, Marilog District to quickly address medical and emergency needs of residents in the southern part of Davao City.
Central 911 chief Emmanuel Jaldon said on Wednesday, September 27, that in response to the directive of Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, they are now working on the expansion of their facility in Marilog District that has less access to medical health care and emergency services of the government.
He said they already have a facility there with the help of the Davao City Health Office (CHO) but they are ironing out the technical aspect especially the communication system before they could start operating in the area.
"We are just waiting for some equipment to be in place, the support tools natin para yong expansion ng Marahan area pwede na nating i-commence," he said, adding that the communication system is critical for the entire operation.
Jaldon said that the renovation of their base station at S.I.R. Matina is on the pipeline as he said that their facility has been there for almost 15 years and modernization is needed for a more effective and efficient service delivery.
They are processing the compliance of the necessary documents and requirements to start with the renovation.
"All the requirements are being fast-tracked now kasi kailangan na talaga. The city is growing and the demand of emergency services is also growing so our facility also needs upgrading," Jaldon said. (JCR)
