A TOTAL of eight sports are entered in the Mindanao Peace Games (MPG) 2017 slated October 24 to 29 at the Ateneo de Davao University (Addu) along Jacinto Street.
MPG overall program coordinator Celina Simone Jaldon, in Thursday's Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum held at The Annex of SM City Davao, bared that events included are basketball, volleyball, football, badminton, chess, table tennis, swimming and track and field.
Addu athletes will play against Ateneo de Zamboanga University, Xavier University-Cagayan de Oro City, Holy Cross of Davao College, University of Southeastern Philippines, San Pedro College of Davao, Datu Ibrahim Paglas Memorial College, Iligan Medical Center College, Holy Trinity College, Father Saturnino Urios University, Saint Joseph Institute of Technology, La Salle University Ozamiz and Mindanao State University-Marawi.
The six-day sportsfest will also feature a team captain's leadership meeting, coaches' forum, popcorn and movie night, trivia night and TED talk.
The Games also aims for student-athletes to become better people, coaches learn to be mentors and where sports directors and coordinators to become transformational leaders.
