Contrabands seized in female jail

SEVERAL contrabands were seized in a greyhound operation inside the Metro Bacolod District Jail (MBDJ)–Female Dormitory at Barangay Handumanan, Bacolod City early Thursday.

Inspector Aubrey Robles, jail warden, said personnel of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the police conducted the inspection around 4 a.m.

Contrabands like nail cutter, blade, lighters, ballpens, nails, glass, and hanger, among others were recovered from the different cells inside the jail.

At present, the jail has 189 persons deprived of liberty (PDLs).

Robles said the operation is part of their intensified campaign against illegal drugs and other contrabands that can be used as deadly weapons.
