AFTER a well-deserved rest, the 29th Southeast Asian (Sea) Games gold medalist Mary Joy Tabal will leave the country anew to start her training abroad for the 2018 Asian Games.
The 28-year-old Cebuana will be back in the Tuscany Training Camp in Italy, the same camp where she prepared for the 29th Sea Games, which was held last August in Kuala, Lumpur.
“I have already processed my visa, I’m just waiting for the release,” the Barangay Guba resident told SunStar Cebu.
Tabal’s target to leave for Italy is on Oct. 10, but the date will depend on her visa and her major backer, Motor Ace Philippines.
Tabal’s training abroad for this year is scheduled until December, but she will be back here to compete in the 41st Milo Marathon National Finals.
Tabal will be gunning for her fifth straight title in the Milo Marathon Finals, which will be held in Cebu on Dec. 3.
“Hoping to defend my title in the Milo Marathon, but the main target for me is the Asian Games,” she earlier said.
The 2018 Asian Games will be held in Indonesia on Aug. 18 to Sept. 2. (RSC)
