AFTER celebrating its 25th anniversary last month, the Mactan Island Golf Club will be busy again as they host the 17th Island Tee Golf Tournament on Nov. 9 to 12 at the Mactan Benito Ebuen Air Base in Lapu-Lapu City.
The signature tournament of the MIGC will be a three-man team event, which will composed of either two members and one guest or one member and two guests. The three-man team replaces the traditional member-guest team format.
Each team will play two rounds in the four-day tournament. The Modified Stableford Scoring System will be used and only three-fourths of the October 2017 handicaps of the participants will be applied. Maximum handicap will be 28 strokes.
The team with the highest points will be hailed as the overall team champion. Also up for grabs are the titles and runners-up awards in the divisions A, B and C.
Individual special awards will be given for the players with the lowest gross score, highest pointer for men’s, ladies seniors (55-above) and junior golf divisions.
A special award for the best score of the day will also be given for divisions A, B and C.
The registration fee per team is at P11,000 for those who will sign up not later than Oct. 20. The entry fee per team after Oct. 20 is at P12,000. Registration is now ongoing at the MIGC. (RSC)
