BAGUIO archers continue to hit their mark in the international competition.
Charmaine Angela Villamor made the city proud anew as she joined fellow junior archers Nicole Tagle and Gabrille Monica in scoring a stellar performance in the World Youth Championships in Rosario, Argentina, in finishing fourth place.
The junior squad earlier upset power house South Korea to advance to the semis but faltered against Japan and later to Great Britain to drop out of the medal race.
Villamor and her teammates, the eigth seed among 21 teams after the Qualification Round defeated Italy that arrange a match up against the top seed Koreans.
As of this writing, Villamor and Tagle were playing in the second round of Individual Olympic Round.
Earlier this year, Villamor saw action in the weeklong Korean Festa but failed to barge into the top five but that did not stop the Pines City High School student from further training including a recent silver medal finish in the Baguio City Invitational Archery Tournament.
Villamor was also the most bemedalled Cordillera athlete during the 2017 Palarong Pambansa held earlier this year with four gold, two silvers, and a bronze. (Roderick Osis)
