La Trinidad on watch vs gambling

LA TRINIDAD police chief Benson Macli-ing said there is a continuous monitoring against illegal gambling in the town.

“So far for the previous months we have filed cases for illegal gambling. Today the office is conducting visitations and monitoring in reported establishments.”

Top date, Macliings said there are no reports of jueteng in the Valley saying he has dedicated a group of policemen to strictly monitor the illegal numbers game.

For the month of October barangay assemblies have been conducted in Bineng, Lubas, Beckel, Puguis, Pico, Alapang, Betag, Bahong, and Wangal where stakeholders are advised to report Illegal gambling in their neighborhood to the nearest police office.

Macli-ing said there are no gambling activities in the town “Awan ti e-bingo and bingo sa barangay.”

La Trinidad Mayor Romeo Salda also remains firm of his stand against electronic-bingo (e-bingo) and all forms of gambling in the municipality.

Salda said his opposition dwells on the negative impact of the gambling acknowledging the different sector that are up in arms against all forms of gambling in the valley.

Meanwhile, during the recent Senior Citizen’s Official for a Day (SCOFAD) a resolution discouraging the conduct of gambling during periods of vigil and in times of death in the province has been proposed.
