AT LEAST 50 joined the bloodletting activity hosted by the Christ’s Commission Fellowship (CCF) in partnership with the MX3–DMI Medical Supply Co. Inc. at the CCF-Davao along Jose P. Laurel Avenue yesterday.
CCF-Davao Pastoral Care Department head Pastor Richard Dabi told Sun.Star Davao that this is the first time that the church hosted a bloodletting activity in coordination with Philippine Red Cross Davao City Chapter.
Dabi said the CCF, in partnership with the MX3–DMI Medical Supply, aims to to help their congregants and their loved ones who would be in need of blood during emergency situation.
"If we have reserved donor cards, we can immediately address their needs," Dabi said, adding that looking for donors these days, in spite of the increasing population in Davao City and in the region, is still quite difficult.
Katherine Ponla, coordinator of the event, also said having such activity is also a good way for them not only to aid the members of the church, but also other people who are in need of blood during medical operation.
Of the 50 volunteers who were screened, 35 bags of blood were collected.
The activity had donors coming from various sectors.
CCF plans to hold a similar activity in 2018.
