Truck hits vulcanizing shop, 3 injured

A VULCANIZING shop owner and two minors were injured when the 10-wheeler sugarcane truck hit the shop along the national highway at Hacienda Loblocon in Barangay San Jose, E.B Magalona, on April 28.

Police identified the victims as Carlito Sales, 46, of Barangay 2-Poblacion, and the two minors aged 12 and 17.

E.B Magalona Municipal Police Station records showed that the victims were sleeping inside the vulcanizing shop around 1:20 a.m. when the sugarcane truck driven by Ramy Selorio, 48, of Barangay Ma-ao, Bago City, hit the shop.

The police said Selorio lost control of his driven truck, hit the steel barrier and bumped the vulcanizing shop.

The victims were trapped inside the shop and were rescued by members of rescue teams E.B. Magalona, Talisay City, and Silay City rescue team with the Amity Volunteer Fire Brigade.

The victims sustained minor injuries and were brought Teresita Jalandoni Provincial Hospital Silay City, while Selorio also surrendered to the police.

Meanwhile, a motorcycle driver was also injured in a road accident in Barangay Zone 12-A, Talisay City, on April 28.

Police records showed that Felecito Edlang Jr. of Hacienda Socorro in Barangay Matab-ang was driving his Rusi motorcycle when he bumped into the Mitsubishi truck that stopped along the highway.

Edlang sustained multiple wounds and was rushed to Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in Bacolod City. (MAP)
