Capitol vows to help quadruplets; family appeals for assistance

THE quadruplets who were born prematurely and are now under observation in the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center (VSMMC) may soon get some needed assistance.

Cebu Gov. Hilario Davide III committed to provide assistance to the parents of the four babies. Davide met with Kenneth Tongol, the babies’ father, in his office.

Tongol said that he went to Governor Davide’s office yesterday as the family really needed help, particularly for milk for his quadruplets.

The quadruplets remained in the VSMMC’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit as of Friday.

Davide said he has asked Marivic Garces, Provincial Social Welfare Officer, to facilitate the assistance for Tongol.

The quadruplets were born last April 28 by Caesarian section. Their mother, Irene Rodriguez, is now in stable condition.

Tongol said he was happy but at the same time worried for his quadruplets especially that they were born prematurely and needed to be monitored regularly. The quadruplets’ names are Kendro, Kenshie, Isabelle, and Izeah. They have a two-year-old sister.

Tongol is also appealing to other individuals and groups to assist them. (JKV)
