Creba holds tree planting activity

THE Chamber of Real Estate and Builders Associations Incorporated (Creba) in Davao upholds its commitment to the community to advocate for a sustainable development through the conduct of their first tree planting activity last April 28 at Asico Village, Km,. 6.5 Matina Pangi, Davao City.

Maria Luisa Abaya, Creba Davao President intentionally spearheaded the activity for the month of April in line with the celebration of Earth Day to give their part in the environment preservation and eco empowerment to improve the quality of life and promote disaster-resilient community.

She emphasized the standing law which states that one person must plant 10 trees in their lifetime.

The area where they adopted and planted the trees was identified by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) together with the barangay officials in Matina Pangi, known to be a flood-prone area.

Some 42 Creba members composed of brokers, builders, and relators took their time off and participated in the green activity. They were able to plant more than a hundred Mahogany, Narra and Jackfruit trees.

Abaya thanked the members for their cooperation and support. She likewise raised her plan to conduct the tree planting annually in synchronization with the Earth Day celebration.

On the other hand, former Chapter President Engineer Jose Froilan Rigor underscored the importance of organization, involved in real estate development, to also join in the crusade in preserving the environment to create a balance between developments and environment protection without destroying the natural resources.

“I really want to instill to the Creba members to remember our logo. Our logo is development, nakita niyo ang house at the center? That represents development and the trees in the background. Kaya kapag Creba member ka, dapat balanced person ka,” he said.
