SOME 500 participants from various cooperatives in Western Visayas are expected to join the 7th Western Visayas Regional Cooperative Convention at Iloilo Grand Hotel on May 23 to 25.
“This is an opportunity for us to meet new members from other places and also a chance to discuss the importance of active participation of every member. As an organization, everyone must know his or her role so that we can build stronger foundation as a team,” Iloilo City Cooperative Development Council (ICCDC) president Carlito Jusa said.
Organized by ICCDC, in partnership with Western Visayas Cooperative Development Council and Cooperative Development Authority, the two-day conference aims to promote advocacies which will help improve the economic and social development of its members.
Mainstreaming of cooperative programs on Local Government Units and updates on Train Law issue will also be presented.
Sen. Miguel Zubiri, chairman of Senate Committee on Cooperatives, will serve as guest speaker during the event. City and town council members and national government agencies which have programs on cooperatives will also be present.
