Leni Robredo in Bacolod May 9

VICE President Maria Leonor "Leni" Robredo will arrive in Negros Occidental Wednesday, May 9, for various engagements.

Robredo was invited by former Negros Occidental governor Rafael Coscolluela to the launching of a province-wide “Istorya ng Pag-asa” (INP) campaign in the province.

It was first launched in Bacolod City on October 19, 2017, at Sanctuario de La Salle in the University of St. La Salle.

As one of the members of INP Bacolod City core team, Coscolluela witnessed the positive impact of sharing inspiring stories to the people in the city.

Aiming to find and spread more stories of hope from their province, Coscolluela gathered his team and came up with the idea of launching INP Negros Occidental.

The activity will be held at St. John Vianney Hall in the Diocese of Bacolod.

Robredo was also invited in the Pasidungog 2018, an appreciation event organized by Carlos Hilado Memorial State College (CHMSC) intended for its institutional and individual partners.

It will be held at the SMX Convention Center.

Rhoderick Samonte, CHMSC director for external affairs, said their partners have helped them promote and realize their goals and objectives in relation to research, extension services, internship, exchange programs and other forms of collaboration.

"We have invited Vice President Leni to be our guest speaker as she can best inspire and encourage our partners to strengthen our relationship in pursuit of nation-building. Needless to say though, there is no politics in inviting Vice President Leni. We just need her to be our inspirational speaker where she fits the criteria," he said.

CHMSC President Renato Sorolla will deliver his opening message followed by Robredo as the keynote speaker.

Moreover, Robredo was also invited by Analisa Bolano, vice president for Operations of Knights of Democracy (KOD) national, an INP partner in Iloilo, for their oath taking ceremony at McKoy’s Grill/BBQ House in 18th Street.

KOD is a civil society organization that focuses on defending democracy, human rights, civil liberties and extending help to the less fortunate.
