The job orders are expected to increase as more local and overseas companies are expressing their interest to join the exposition.

As of May 9, 156 companies -- 127 local and 29 overseas -- confirmed their participation, said Peso Manager Francisco Heler Jr.

Revolving on the theme “Trabaho, Negosyo at Kabuhayan sa Agricultura at Turismo,” the exposition will involve pre-employment orientation, basic entrepreneurship training, tourism awareness seminar and livelihood opportunities in agriculture.

Governor Arthur Defensor Sr. is encouraging other local government units to arrange the transportation of their jobseekers for their convenience and to ensure that many Ilonggos can participate in the expo.

The jobs available are call center agents, teachers, sales agent, nurses, physical therapist, medical technologist, doctors, pharmacists, carpenters, welders, engineers (mechanical, civil or electrical), drivers, technicians (electrical, mechanical or aircon), IT technicians, computer operators, and maintenance.

Heler said jobseekers should pre-register in their office at the third floor or Iloilo Provincial Capitol to avoid long queue during the hiring process.

So far, 348 job applicants have pre-registered. Person with disabilities, solo parents, indigenous group, Tesda graduates, parolees, probationers and beneficiaries of Sustainable Livelihood Program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development will be given special lanes.
