‘The Wild’ in Carmen

WELCOME to the Wild!” That’s the tagline of the Cebu Safari Adventure Park. I personally experienced this last Saturday as promo diva Josie Pereyra facilitated the visit of the E-Group to the amusement park in Toril, Barangay Corte, Carmen.

The tour was supported by owners Michel and Amparito Lhuillier and manager Jojo Loop. Our guide, Janet, told us that there are 111 species of fauna and twice or thrice the number of flora in the area.

Some parts are still undergoing development for the arrival of more animals and the much-awaited rides to cover the entire 323 hectares. A succeeding trip to the place will always be welcomed with open arms.

I met the choreographer of the “Pilipinas Got Talent” semi-finalist group Dancing Fire Warriors, Ringo Jay Trinio. Though unsuccessful in its bid, Jay was still thankful for the chance to showcase the Cebuano culture.

He also expressed his gratitude to the Lapu-Lapu City Government for the support. He divulged that the production staff imposed some changes in their act barely an hour before the actual performance. That adversely affected their number, but Jay regarded it as part of the game.

I unexpectedly bumped into Rey Martinez and wife Wilma at Parkmall. Rey said that the relic of St. Therese of Lisseux will visit for the third time the Archdiocesan Shrine of St. Therese at Brgy. Obispo, Calubian, Leyte on May 18.

I’ve been to the place several times but my visit did not coincide with the visit of the saint’s relic.
