DISCOUNTED fares for connecting flights to Europe, North America, Canada, and Australia through the Davao-Hong Kong direct flight of Cathay Pacific are available at the Travel and Leisure Expo (Tlex) at the SMX Convention Center, SM Lanang until Sunday, May 13.

With the purpose of bringing in different travel-related companies in one venue and to provide Dabawenyos diverse travel options, Tlex 2018 invited two airlines to the event – Philippine Airlines and Cathay Pacific.

With this direct flight, passengers get access to other countries through connecting flights. Passengers who plan to travel October 28, 2018 to March 31, 2019 can avail of the discounted connecting flight fares at the expo.

For Economy seats, Davao to Hong Kong flights are only priced at US$236. Connecting flights to Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Vancouver are priced only at $686 while passengers who plan to visit Newark, New York, Washington, Toronto, Boston, and Chicago, may avail of a plane ticket for $874.

City Tourism Operations Office head Generose Tecson earlier stated that the Davao-Hong Kong direct flight is a welcome development and will very much be expected to bring in more tourists from other countries as well.

“Cathay Pacific’s Davao-Hong Kong will be a very welcome addition and with Hong Kong being a gateway, we expect more visitor arrivals to the city not just from Hong Kong but other countries as well,” she said adding that the tourism stakeholders of Davao City had been long ago and still are pushing for more international direct flights to and from the city.
