THE wedding bells are ringing for the soon-to-be princess bride Meghan Markle who’s about to marry Prince Harry. From being a daring actress, Meghan is about to embark on a very different journey and the whole world is ready to witness the change. On her wedding come May 19, Meghan will not only be marrying the love of her life but will also become part of the British royal family. On this day, what do you think the princess bride should be wearing? Here are some of the ideas of Cebu’s most prominent fashion designers.

Valerie Alvez

“I picture the future princess Meghan Markle shying away from the usual bias cut, princess-type of gown but instead wearing something that has a streamlined, modern look to it. A semi mermaid silhouette with a long semi bishop sleeve and a round neck top with a sexy open back done in full luxurious ivory satin would be something I look forward to her wearing.”

Edward James Castro

“Personally, I’d like to see her in something vintage. I looked to the Hubert de Givenchy and Cristobal Balenciaga for inspiration. A very simple approach to silhouette, with a bit of drama thrown in the mix, and total restraint in detail. Her body swathed in Silk Gazaar, with a column silhouette and sabrina neckline is a nod to old Hollywood glamor. A nice dainty bow to accentuate the waist. The drama element comes in the form of a crin-lined French lace pannier with scallop trimmed hem, which gives another dimension to the look. In terms of styling, maybe some gloves to give it an old world charm. Overall, I was going for something regal and romantic but not constricting.”

Dino Lloren

“I see Meghan wearing something very timeless and classic. A high-necked serpentine gown in Chantilly lace with long sleeves. For her walk down the aisle, a long, dramatic train made of layers of tulle will provide the drama. For the reception, she could take the train off and just dance the night away, as the newest member of the British Royal Family.”
