6.35-M Central Luzon voters to elect new barangay, SK officials

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- More than 6.35-million registered voters from all over Central Luzon are expected to cast their votes for the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections on Monday, May 14.

According to the data released by the Commission on Elections (Comelec)-Central Luzon total 6,359,415 voters are set to elect the new sets of officials on the total 3,102 villages in the region.

Among the seven provinces in the region, Bulacan has the most number of registered voters with 1,729,088 followed by Nueva Ecija with 1,369,432; Pampanga-1,355,844; Tarlac-781,744; Bataan-508,407; Zambales-481,827; and Aurora-133,073.

Central Luzon has 2,144,607 registered voters aged 15 to 30 years old for the newly-reformed SK elections, wherein they will elect candidates aged 18 to 24 years old seeking SK chairmanship and council posts.

Bulacan still has the most number of SK voters with 560,738 followed by Nueva Ecija with 465,403; Pampanga-450,598; Tarlac-264,870; Bataan-180,676; Zambales-171,048; and Aurora-51,274.

Comelec-Central Luzon data also disclosed that has 41,954 established precincts, 19,542 clustered precincts and 2,830 voting centers.

There are some 24,816 posts to be filled up for the barangay level and some 27,918 posts for the SK all over the region.
