Ceres faces Yangon FC today in Myanmar

Ceres Negros FC plays Yangon United at Thuwunna Stadium in Myanmar today, May 16 and needs only a draw in the second leg of their Asean Zonal semifinal to advance to the next stage.

It will be a showdown again between Ceres' Bienvenido Marañon, and Yangon's Sekou Sylla who both scored two goals in their Panaad match last week. Both are leading AFC Cup goal-scoring charts with 9 goals each.

The Spaniard hit the back of the net in the 29th and 44th minutes while the Guinean had his on the 55th and 83rd minute in the Busmen's 4-2 victory at home.

Yangon won all three of their home games during the group stage, scoring eight times and winning over Thanh Hoa, Global Cebu, and Bali United.

But Ceres scored four goals and breached the Yangon defense 13 times at Panaad.

Yangon is leading the 2018 Myanmar National League season at its halfway stage with 26 points while Ceres also occupy the top spot in the current Philippines Football League, one point ahead of Davao Aguilas, despite its 0-2 loss to Kaya FC on Saturday.

Ceres won two and drew one of the three group stage games they played away from home, scoring six goals against Shan United and Boeung Ket.

The Busmen has progressed all the way through last year's Inter-Zone semi-finals only to lose over two legs to Tajikistan's FC Istiklol.
